July in Confederate History 
NC State Memorial, Gettysburg, PA
July provides an opportunity to recognize many historic events no longer taught in the public school systems. Some folks recognize their local area heritage and refuse to erase it from text books or recollection. Since you are unlikely to see any mention of "Truth in History" in school curriculum, we will present the birth dates of a few great men and historic events that that seem only to appear on the calendars of the historic minded.
LEARN WHAT WAS LIFE WAS LIKE IN CATAWBA COUNTY AT THE END OF THE WAR
Some folks have referred to the period of 1865-1877 as the "Reconstruction Period."
A better description would be the period of "Northern Occupation."
